There are two general concepts used to describe the state of being healthy. Unfortunately the one that’s most common in our country is a lack of symptoms. If someone isn’t in the hospital for a health condition or doesn’t have a named disease their doctor may even tell them they’re healthy because they currently lack symptoms. Or they may hear this “You do have Crohns disease, but other than that you’re perfectly healthy!”.
Personally, we’ve always believed that their was much more to health than less pain. We subscribe to the World Health Organization’s definition of health: “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” In other words there’s so much more out there that many people just never get the chance to experience.
One fun way to think of this is by asking yourself this question in regards to your health:
What would you like more of?
We know everyone would like less pain but what would replace that? More energy? More calmness and peace? More confidence? More joy?
We provide wellness services including Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique, Functional Medicine/Clinical Nutrition, and Network Spinal Analysis in order to help you get more out of life. Of course along the way the pain and symptoms become less but if you can focus your attention on a positive outcome you will achieve much “more”than “less” with these wellness techniques.
So how do you know how healthy you are? At the office we use tools like questionnaires, heart rate variability, posture pictures, lab work, and much more to paint a holistic picture of your health. These tools also let us track your health through care so we have objective measurements because you now know that there’s always more to the story!
